The Selwo Marina Zoo in Benalmádena sends its nine dolphins to China.

On September 3, the nine bottlenose dolphins from the Selwo Benalmádena park in Malaga began their journey to China. They were sent to the contemporary aquatic facilities on Hainan Island, belonging to the Parques Reunidos group. The company has not announced the transfer of the cetaceans; however, they are no longer available on their website, and by phone, they only indicate that the facilities are under construction. The Ministry for Ecological Transition confirms that the group requested authorization from CITES, an international agreement that controls the trade of endangered species, to export nine dolphins from this park to the Asian country. "The specimens were sent to China on September 3, left the country, and crossed the border in accordance with the regulations governing international trade in protected species."
