The murder of Tío Lucho, a famous 50-year-old crocodile, has been reported.
The animal was an iconic species of a community and was believed to have died due to the anger we experienced in 2000. To determine whether the beloved Tío Lucho, the 50-year-old American crocodile (Crocodylus acutus) who was a symbol of the La Ventanilla community in Oaxaca, Mexico, was killed, the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection filed a complaint. His caretakers claimed he was injured in a "fight" with other animals; however, it was discovered that he was injured during a workshop, when he was "operated on" as a demonstration for the public, without authorization.
