Cigars with Peruvian Tobacco

In Peru, tobacco has a long-standing tradition, with the majority of production (95%) taking place in the rainforest, particularly in Junín, San Martín, Amazonas, and Cajamarca. Companies like Tabacos del Perú have been operating since 1966. They are known for their handcrafted cigars, while mapacho (rustic tobacco) holds deep cultural and ancestral value in the Amazon. Production and areas: Cajamarca (Jaén 13%), Amazonas (Bagua 23%), San Martín (Tarapoto 12%), and Junín (Satipo 52%). Crafts and cigars: Tabacalera del Oriente S.A.C. is known for its handcrafted cigars, including the Miguel Grau and Señor de Sipán brands. Amazonian communities used it ritually. Marketing: Pipe tobacco, cigarettes, and cigars are sold, both imported brands and handcrafted varieties.
